NY Visit - Metropolitan Museum of ArtIt was Dec 28, 2005. We woke up late and decided to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It closes at 5:30 pm each day, so we could not visit all of it, even we missed the vinci, misorian mommy etc. We had a plan to visit it second time, but could not accomodate another day for it. I hope visit it once again some other time.

From a billboard in front of the sculpture above -
For three decades, this sculpture stood in the plaza of the World Trade Center. Entitled "The Sphere," it was conceived by artist Fritz Koenig as a symbol of world peace. It was damaged during the tragic events of September 11, 2001, but endures as an icon of hope and the industructible spirit of this country. The Spehre was placed here on March 11, 2002 as a temporary memorial to all who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center. This eternal flame was ignited on September 11, 2002 in honor of all those who were lost. Their spirit and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

At this point Tushi went on throwing coins of hope, I was there ready to take a video. Suddenly a boy fell into the water of the spring. :) I could take a video of that incident.

Throughing penny for hope.

At this point we were out of batteries and were hungry. So we went out and returned again.
We entered the museum again. But this time we went up to the second floor to see other arts. We could only visit the section of modern arts.

Tushi is kinda confused, is this a good thing to take a picture with? ;)
This is the Van Gogh, could you recognize it? I was amazed and very excited to stand in front of such works. Other images are given below.

Before returning Tushi got a limo to take snap with. :)

NY Visit - Statue of Liberty
It was the third day, Dec 27, 2005, and we decided to go to the
Statue of Liberty.

Me and Tushi in front of the uncles house Tushi.
And with chachi.
From the ferryWe got very nice view of the Manhattan city and Statue of Liberty from our way to the Manhattan city. We had to use the free ferry service to get there.
Although the day was sunny the river was little bit foggy and the weather was windy and cold, probably due to the rain previous night.

The Statue of LibertyWe had to stay a 1 hour long line to get to the boat to liberty island. We were fortunate to get tickets from a couple who bought the ticket but were not willing to go there at that time. This saved about an hour of waiting for the ticket. :)

The boat has started the journey.

New York Visit - First DayWe reached New York in a glummy rainy day, Dec 25, 2005. Moutushi's uncle picked us up from the LaGuardia airport. We reached his home and had a nice dinner. We took rest for that day.
The next day we woke up at afternoon 1 o'clock. :) Imon bhai, Moutushi's cousin, took us to the Manhattan City and Jackson Heights.

This is the UN headquarter in the Manhattan city. I took the picture from the running car.
